A PRAYER FOR LAKESIDE

Our kind and gracious Heavenly Father,
we beseech Your blessings in this, Your House.
Before the majestic splendor of our “Beth-El”
we stand in awe and reverence.

The shining new steeple, lifting high its cross
to the heavens, invites us from afar to enter its doors,
to sit quietly in its pews, and to gaze around us
upon the utter beauty of its structure.

O Lord, though the strong brick walls are new,
Your Church is as old as time itself.
Lakeside has belonged to us for only a
few years now, but it has become a part of us
…and truly we have each become a part of it.

For in its presence we have worshiped,
have seen Christ lifted up, and had felt
his dwelling among us.
In its bosom we have confessed our sins and felt
the comfort, serenity, and assurance of Thy forgiveness.

Our Father, we thank Thee for blessing us with forceful, inspiring messages brought from Your pulpit
by consecrated individuals, for the stirring anthems
rendered by the choirs, for the professions of faith
and words of re-dedication faithfully
uttered from the lips of our youth.
